Summary: research work developed during 2002 and 2003 that shows the conditions of imprisonment in Catalunya during that period. It focuses specially on those aspects and situations which result particularl problematic that, at the same time, create conditions of vulnerability of imprisoned persons or violate their fundamental rights. It analyses issues as: the elimination of certain avoidable practices, the reduction or minimization of some negative consequences, denounce of abuses, discriminations and violations of rights. It also aspires to contribute with an improvement of the public knowledge about the penitentiary reality.
